This is available only to Administrator level users. Before deleting a department, ensure there are no assets or users assigned.  Open the Departments page under System Administration (bell icon or hamburger menu). Locate the department on the Departments page and select the pencil icon for the Department. ![Departments Edit](https://support.cognosos.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Healthcare/Departments%20Edit.png?width=688&height=213&name=Departments%20Edit.png) Make changes the name and click Save; otherwise Cancel. Saved changes are reflected immediately on the Departments page and throughout the portal (users and assets assigned to department will have new name). To remove a single department, locate the department on the main Departments page and click the trash can icon for that department. No checkmark is needed.  ![Departments Delete single-1](https://support.cognosos.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Healthcare/Departments%20Delete%20single-1.png?width=688&height=52&name=Departments%20Delete%20single-1.png) To remove multiple departments at one time, place a checkmark next to each department on the Departments page. Return to the Departments list without deleting by selecting Cancel. Once confirmed, the department is removed and the system returns to the Departments page.
