Getting Started with Spotlight

Learn basics about Spotlight and flashing tags.

Spotlight is a feature that helps drivers and inventory pickers more quickly identify which nearby cars they should pick so that they do not lose time wandering around looking for a specific vehicle. Spotlight provides a visual method for outdoor field team members to quickly locate vehicles that have been selected through a search using the Logistics Mobile App. When the search locates a vehicle that matches the Spotlight criteria, the tag (inside the vehicle) will flash the specified light pattern (e.g., long red flash or short green flash).

Spotlight uses BLE to connect to the Cognosos Model RT- 270 tracking tags and operates based on the search criteria and outcomes. Once the search has been initiated and activates the tag spotlight, it begins listening for BLE beacons from the vehicle tags, once every second. When the tag is heard, the app tells the tag to flash if the vehicle is on the list.

Your mobile device must have bluetooth set to on to communicate with the tags and run Spotlight mode.
