There are two ways to associate a tracker with a vehicle:
- Automatic association/disassociation
-
Note: Certain LotVision customers will have access to Auto Association / Disassociation features. To verify if these are available at your dealership or auction, contact your LotVision Customer Success Lead.
-
- Manually pairing a tracker to a vehicle.
To associate/pair a tracker with Auto Association:
-
Start by locating the vehicle OBD port. It is usually located on the driver's side under the dashboard.
- Push the tracker gently, but firmly, into the port.
- Listen for a beep - If you hear the beep, the device has been successfully installed.
- If Auto Association is enabled at your site, start the vehicle and leave idle for 20-30 seconds.
Note: If you do not hear a beep or see the green light, the device has not been properly installed. Carefully remove it using the key and try again (using the key is important to avoid damaging the tracker - do not simply pull it out of the port).
Note: Auto-Association requires a minimum of 12.5v in the vehicle battery and a model year newer than 2008

- Next, you will be prompted to scan the vehicle's VIN. Once again, this can be done with the handheld scanner or entered manually.
- Enter the VIN then press "Next"
- You will be shown either a screen indicating the success or failure of the association.
