Resetting a Gen 2 (non-OBD) Tracker

How to reset a Gen 2 non-OBD tracker

To reset an Non-OBD tracker:

  • First, locate the tracker (note that the location on the map represents the tracker’s last known location, which might not be current if the tracker is having issues).
  • After locating the tracker, uninstall it and disassociate it from the vehicle per the normal process.

  • To reset the device, take a magnet and hold it over the oval end of the tracker until the green light starts blinking.
  • Continue holding the magnet over the device for another 10 seconds. The magnet must be held perfectly still for the full 10 seconds.
  • Remove the magnet. If the reset was successful, the green light should be solid (not blinking). If the green light does not appear, repeat the magnet reset process three more times.
  • Once the reset is successful (the green light appears), take the tracker outdoors, within range of the gateway.
  • Check the status of the tracker again in the system.

If the tracker does not return to expected behavior, mark it for return and set it aside with any other defective trackers.

If the tracker starts operating normally, return it to the storage area with all your other working and unassociated trackers that are ready for association.
