How to uninstall an OBD tracker from a vehicle
You will need to uninstall trackers whenever a vehicle is sold, or otherwise leaves your inventory.
To uninstall an OBD tracker:
- First determine if your OBD tracker uses a metal key, or has the plastic permakey in the device.
- If you have the plastic permakey in the device, be sure to pull it out before removing the tracker.
- If your device uses the metal keys:
- Before starting you will need a universal key like the one pictured below. If you do not have a universal key, contact your operations manager.
-
- Start by inserting the universal key into the slot near the base of the tracker.
- Next, pull gently on the tracker to remove it from the OBD port.
- If Auto Disassociation is enabled, confirm that the vehicle no longer appears in the site's UI after removal.
- The tracker is now uninstalled.
Note: Always use the key when uninstalling OBD trackers! Otherwise you risk causing damage to the OBD port or to the tracker itself.
