Managing Trackers via My Lot

How to manage, search, and filter trackers from My Lot within the Trailer & Yard Management portal.

The Trackers tab in My Lot provides a way to view trackers and tracker health, attach and detach
trackers, and link to individual vehicle movements and history. A location link also takes users to a Google map noting the tracker’s location. A tracker is a device (tag) that is placed inside the vehicle and provides wayfinding services. Refer to Map Navigation section of the Knowledge Base to learn how to use the map to view and locate trackers.

When the Trackers tab is opened the page defaults to a list of all trackers.

The Tracker ID, Battery Level, Firmware, and Internal Temperature columns are sortable. Hover and click over the column you want to resort. At any point the list can be saved to a CSV file using the Download option in the Tracker menu bar. This option downloads the data to a CSV file that can be saved to your local drive. When available, use the Show on Map button to view the vehicle icon on the map.

Locating Trackers via Search

Locate a specific tracker within the facility using the search feature located in the Tracker menu bar. Unlike the vehicle alphanumeric search, the actual tracker ID needs to be input into the Search field.

When the tracker list refreshes the single tracker will appear. Available actions for the device are dependent upon the tracker status. The Search only supports exact match on the Trackers page. Select the X in the search field to clear the search and refresh the page.

Locating Trackers via Filter

The Filter option provides the ability to locate trackers across the facility based on tracker status and battery level. Unlike filtering vehicles, the tracker filter provides pre-defined options and no new filters may be saved. Select Filter from the Trackers menu and choose one of the pre-defined filters.

Tracker status options include Responsive, Unresponsive, Attached, Unattached.

Has Signal: portal detects tag signal; may or may not be attached to a vehicle

Lost Signal: tracker not communicating with portal; may be attached or unattached

Attached: may be responsive or unresponsive

Unattached: may be responsive (active) or unresponsive

Battery level options include Critical, Low, and Normal.

Tracker status and battery level are independent of one another, but may impact each other (e.g., a lost signal due to a dead battery).

Make the appropriate selection. The trackers list refreshes showing only trackers with the operation status or battery level selected. The filter will appear next to the Selected filters field.

Depending on the tracker status, one of several functions can be performed as described below.

For Attached, select the link in the Connected to vehicle number column to open the Vehicle Details page. View available movement history data and take one of several actions available from that page (show on map, follow, navigate to vehicle, etc.). Data available depends on tracker status (has/lost signal).

For trackers with a status of Unattached, choose Show on map to view the last known location, if available. In some cases, location will be unknown. For unattached trackers, the available action is to attach to a vehicle. For trackers with a status of non-responsive, the system will show the last known location.

Lost signal trackers may have a connection status of Attached (shown by link in Connected to vehicle # column) or Not Attached. The lost signal, attached status offers a limited amount of information. Historical movements may not be fully available; however, many actions can be taken (e.g., detach tracker, edit details). With lost signal, unattached trackers, you can see limited data and attach (so long as the battery level is good). Any issues with that battery, hardware or firmware will need to be addressed to bring the tag (tracker) online so that it can be attached to a vehicle.

Click the X in the filters display to clear the filter and refresh the page. You can also select the Clear button in the Tracker menu to clear filters and refresh the page. Any filter settings in My Lot will transfer over to the map until cleared.
