This article explains how to navigate the map interface while also covering the map icons, view options, and data displayed on the map, within the portal for Trailer & Yard Management.
This article describes the information displayed on the Maps page, along with view options and ways to navigate the map interface.
At its most “zoomed” out view, the map provides summary cluster information for either the vehicles or trackers, depending on the selection. Use the Vehicles/Trackers toggle in the right-hand menu to change the view.
Users can select Map or Satellite in the upper left corner of the map. For a full screen view of the map (or to return to the window view) use the window icon located on the top right corner of the map.
There are two methods for zooming in and drilling down into more detailed information from the map’s cluster view: Click on the cluster itself or use the zoom in (+) and zoom out (-) options on bottom right corner of the map. With both options, zoom in/drill down until the map displays smaller clusters or individual vehicles.
The left pane gives options to select specific structures or zones to display on the map. Use the arrows to close and open the pane. To note: There will always be a Zones tab; there may or may not be a Structures tab depending on if your facility defines structures (buildings) during the portal install.
When a zone is selected from within the Zones list, the map dynamically refreshes to display the selected zone in teal blue and the bottom of the right-hand menu displays summary information for that zone. Likewise, when selecting a zone on the map, the left menu changes.
Zone edit and delete options are available only for System Administrators. For those with the Administrator user role, the Edit and Delete buttons are shown in the Summary Box.
The right pane provides options to change views and mode (only for Administrator users). When the map is in edit mode, the right pane provides facility management functions related to structures and zones.
Use the arrows to open and close the menu
Hide/Show Clusters - Display individual vehicles/trackers or show vehicle/tracker clusters
Vehicles/Trackers - Display vehicle or tracker icons on the map
View/Edit - Zone management (only for system administrators)
OnSpot - Select and show OnSpot filter on map
The bottom section of the right menu pane will display the vehicle inventory data and free slots for the ‘active’ zone shown on the map. If no zone is selected on the map, this area of the right menu pane will be blank.
