How to edit and/or delete zone created within the portal for Trailer & Yard Management.
Editing Zones
As with creating new zones, the portal provides two inroads for editing zones: My Lot and Map. Different editing features are available under each. Zone name and capacity can be changed through both. Use the map to edit size and shape of zone.
Zone Size & Shape
Zone size and shape is changed directly on the map. Using one of the methods described earlier, locate and highlight the zone on the Zones tab (left-hand menu) to display on the geo-fence for that zone. The zone will change to teal with a dark blue outline. If the map is not already in edit mode, select Edit on the View/Edit toggle in the right-hand menu. When the map is in edit mode, the highlighted zone will show the connecting dots.
Select a point on the shape by clicking the point with the mouse, drag the point to the new location, and release mouse click. Continue this for any and all points necessary to reform the zone shape. If during the editing process, you need to undo your last change, select the Undo arrow located next to the most recent click-point. When the new shape is complete, select Save in the right-hand menu. The system will display a brief message that the zone was successfully changed. Return to view mode when edits are complete by selecting View with the View/Edit toggle in the right-hand menu.
Zone Name & Capacity
If you need to change the zone’s name or vehicle capacity you can change those directly from the map or from My Lot. From the map, locate and highlight the appropriate zone in the left-hand menu. Once the zone is highlighted select the Edit button inside the summary box on the right-hand menu.
Note: The map can remain in View mode for this change.
In the Edit Zone pop-up window, make changes to the zone name and/or capacity. Select Save to
continue and return to the map; otherwise select Cancel to return to the map without zone changes.
Zone name and capacity can also be changed from the Zones tab in My Lot. The Zones list defaults to all zones defined in the system. Use the search option to locate the zone that needs to change. Select the checkbox next to the zone and click Edit in the Zones menu.
If the Edit button is grayed out, ensure the zone is selected.
In the Edit zone name pop-up window, make the name and/or occupancy change. Select Save to
continue or Cancel to close the window without saving.
The system returns to Zones list. Any search criteria may need to be removed for your next operation (click the X in the search field to reset page to all zones).
Removing Zones
As with the create and edit zone functions, start the process by locating the zone to be deleted. You can do this either on the map or on the Zones tab under My Lot.
On the map, highlight the zone in the left-hand menu from the Zones tab. Select Delete in Zone Summary Box in the right-hand menu.
Note: The map can remain in View mode for this function.
Alternatively, go to the Zones list in My Lot. Locate and select the zone and click Delete in the Zones menu.
Confirm removal of the zone with Delete (from map) or Yes (from My Lot).
Once deleted, the zone is removed from the portal. Ensure you want to take this step, as it can not be undone and may adversely impact tracking abilities, logistics information, inventory data, and the like.
To cancel the process and retain the zone, select Cancel or No from the Map/My Lot respectively.
