This article covers how to view and edit vehicle details within the portal.
The Vehicle Description column from the main Vehicles list allows for quick access to summary details for each of the vehicles listed. Depending on the attributes input for the vehicle, the description may include a more… link. Click to expand the vehicle information. Once expanded, click less… to collapse.
To edit vehicle details, view more information about the vehicle (e.g., historical movement), and to access additional functions, click on the link in the Vehicle ID column.
The Vehicle Details page for the selected vehicle will open. Select the Edit Vehicle Details button.
Select Save to complete and close the edit pop-up window. The system will return to the Vehicle Details page and a small pop-up message will appear indicating that the vehicle details were successfully updated. Select Cancel to return to the previous without saving any changes.
Alternatively, you may select to edit a vehicle’s details using the Edit menu option from the Vehicles list in My Lot. Locate the vehicle to edit on the list and place a checkmark next to the vehicle. Click Edit from the Vehicles menu. If the option is grayed out, it means that there are no or more than one vehicle selected.
When the Edit Details pop-up window opens, follow the same steps as described above.
Viewing Vehicle Movements
One important benefit of the Cognosos portal is the ability to leverage real-time vehicle location data no matter where the vehicle is sitting on the lot. This enables teams to streamline operations and control workflow areas like check-in and detailing, while benefiting from immediate confirmation that vehicles are on spot and ready for auction day.
To access vehicle movements, locate the desired automobile through My Lot. Select the Vehicle ID link from the Vehicles list to open the Vehicle Details page. Select Show Asset Movements.
Upon selection the map shows the “steps” the vehicle followed and the History window lists tracked movements for the vehicle. Each ‘step’ in movement is noted with a number, which coordinates with the date and time stamp in the History pane on the right.
Select Show Current Location to return Vehicle Details to the map displaying the vehicle’s location.
Use the browser’s back arrow to return to the Vehicles list page or take other vehicle actions from here.
